In the last 30 years, Dato’ Choong has held numerous positions of influence through which he has contributed to businesses and served the people. This includes his service as Municipal Councillor for Penang Island Municipal Council, President of the Penang Master Builders & Building Materials Dealers Association and also as the Vice President of the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Dato’ Choong holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) and an MBA, and was awarded the prestigious Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) in 2011.
